After completing the unit readings and listening to the Steven James interview on same-sex couples, chances are you had reactions—positive or negative—to the readings or to Dr. James’ comments.

Describe one strong reaction—either positive or negative—that you had to these materials. Then review APA’s 2011 “Practice Guidelines for LGB Clients” and answer the following:

• As you think about working with gay, lesbian, bisexual, or transgender clients, which guidelines might pose a challenge to you as a psychologist? Explain your answer.
