An example could be an area that is flood-prone could be incorporated into wildlife and recreation attraction. Awareness and education programs will help foster the incorporation of lessons learned from disasters and findings from social research.

However, mitigation activities can and should be in place before a disaster, but hazard mitigation is vital after a disaster. There is a repetitive cycle that occurs after a disaster of getting the community back to normal. Hazard mitigation takes a long-term view of rebuilding stronger, safer, and smarter communities that are better able to reduce future damage and injuries (NA, City of Los Angeles, 2018).

The bible prophecies speak of disasters during the last days; 2 Timothy 3:1-2 (NIV) reads: But mark this, there will be terrible times in the last days. (2) People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy. This is our countrys current state.
